How to Measure Your Ring Size

How to Measure Your Ring Size

Are you looking for a new ring? Maybe you want to give a loved one a special gift, or perhaps you're just treating yourself. Whatever the reason, it's important to make sure you get the right size to ensure a comfortable and secure fit.

I understand how frustrating it can be when you guessed on the size and ended up disappointed. That's why I offer a complimentary ring sizer to help you find the perfect fit. Here are some tips to keep in mind when using a ring sizer

Measure on the correct hand

Our dominant hands are generally slightly larger than our non-dominant hands. Be sure to measure the actual finger you plan to wear the ring on!

The width of the band matters

Rings with wider bands will fit a bit tighter than rings with thinner bands. If your sizing for a wider band make sure you size up 1/4 to 1/2 size bigger.

Measure at normal body temperature

Fingers can shrink or expand when hot or cold, so it's important to measure when your fingers are at their normal body temperature.

Measure at the end of the day

Our fingers tend to change size throughout the day, so it's best to measure at the end of the day when your fingers are likely to be at their largest.

Take into account the size of your knuckle

Once you've sized your finger remember to make sure and test that the sizer can comfortably slide over your knuckle.

Remember, our fingers don't remain at a constant size, even on a day-to-day basis. Temperature, food intake, weather, age, or some medical conditions can all make a huge difference in how a ring will fit. If you're unsure, try sizing more than once spread out over a few days. By having a correctly sized ring, you can prevent all sorts of potential problems at a later time.
